Modern living in perfection
An architectural paradise by the water becomes a comfortable home for a family. Everything in this villa is unique: the location with a view of the lake, a building that looks like it has been stacked, rooms flooded with light thanks to full glazing – and the needs of the family, who wanted a home that was not only aesthetically pleasing but also easy to maintain for life with children. Close consultation and clever concepts made these wishes come true.

Unique – outdoors and indoors
Located just outside Berlin, this house by a lake in Potsdam has become a retreat for a couple with children.
Finally, a clear view
On the garden side, the house’s fully glazed facade opens up generously to the water and the surrounding nature. In contrast, when viewed from the street, this architect’s villa seems very discreet and closed off.
Architecture and interior in harmony
The building’s structure features numerous impressive details and is designed to incorporate the surroundings. The family wanted to continue this uniqueness inside their home as well.
Interplay with nature and light
The painting contractors incorporated the ample natural light into their concept. Two site visits – one in the morning and one in the evening – were conducted for a precise analysis of the lighting conditions. Brillux’s technical consultancy provided support in the selection of materials and coating structures.

Gray, white, wood – and lots of light
When redesigning the villa, the new residents wanted to put their own stamp on it. It was clear that art would be part of the room concept. They included many white fixtures, a white kitchen and a spiral staircase in the center of the open-plan dining and living area in their plans. They therefore asked the painting company for nothing less than flawless surfaces that would seamlessly blend fixtures, doors, stairs and walls into a harmonious overall concept. But they also wanted the home to be easy to maintain – after all, children were going to live there. A challenge that the team gladly accepted and mastered with tailor-made solutions.
