If there’s someone who doesn’t just work with paint, but lives and breathes it, then it’s Philipp Zenglein – master painter, interior designer and passionate craftsman. His apartment near Munich shows exactly that: creativity, craftsmanship, courage and precision. And the joy of not just painting rooms, but bringing them to life.

“Of course, I really let loose as a painter on the creative walls: the lime plaster technique that I and our customers love.”

Kitchen
The kitchen is the emotional focal point. Here, a large photo wallpaper – showing a favorite spot by an Italian lake – meets a lighting concept that stretches across the surface like a sunset. With an Occhio lamp, Philipp has arranged the lighting so that it not only illuminates the space, but also sets the scene. The color shades on the wall capture this warmth and create a soft connection between the image, surface and room. The day doesn’t just start here – it unfolds. Preferably while Philipp’s girlfriend Sara enjoys her coffee on the stairs. Particularly cool: there are bottle holders integrated into the staircase.
Living area
The concept continues in the living area: soft, earthy tones, organic shapes and a clear, modern selection of furniture. Art and natural materials complement each other – colored artworks with neon frames on the wall are balanced by soft shades. Nothing feels cluttered, everything has room to breathe.
Bedroom and study
The bedroom also features subtly balanced design: creative wall surfaces, calm textures, carefully placed lighting and a minimalist bed made from natural materials. It is a room that remains visually light, yet creates a warm feeling of security thanks to the chosen color shade. This way, having a workspace in the bedroom isn’t a problem. Preservative-free paint also ensures a healthy interior, which is very important to Philipp as an allergy sufferer. Tintable in all color shades, the entire Brillux interior range has been converted to preservative-free paints.
The staircase to the bathroom is like a transition between worlds – from the softness of the living spaces to the more striking materials of the bathroom. There, a warm, shimmering metallic wall surface makes a statement. Combined with indirect light, this creates a modern and sensuous depth. This is no accident – it is craftsmanship, deliberately planned by the professional.

Philipp was not at all impressed by the condition of the apartment at first. Friends strongly advised him against buying it. But this just motivated him even more and he wanted to prove to everyone that with the right specialist company, even seemingly hopeless cases can be tackled. And he succeeded! You can see the impressive result here.

Even outside – on the terrace – Philipp continued his color philosophy. Here, he used facade paint to harmoniously connect the exterior with the interior. The shade looks fresh and clear, not artificial. The choice of color, light and material creates a space that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
Philipp and Sara have proven that spaces can grow into something special no matter where they start from – if you give them attention, color and feeling.
