This modernized family home in Hamburg is a prime example of creative solutions in a small space. The four-meter-wide terraced house dates back to the 1930s and today boasts a clean and modern look thanks to an elaborate renovation and stylish color design. Daniela turned her passion project into reality – and the results are truly impressive.

From basement to attic: the nearly 100-year-old house needed a major renovation. New pipes, insulation, a lower basement and a modern heating system had to be taken care of first before the interior design could begin. Together with her master painter, the builders developed a color and material concept that preserves the characteristics of the old build, while adding modern accents and withstanding the stresses of a busy life with children and dogs.

Even in the entrance area, there is a clever use of contrasts: a light blue with a high proportion of white on the walls forms the attractive background for the oak mirror in neon orange.

For the kitchen and living room, the couple chose a beige shade in different gloss grades. This gives the living room a velvety matt look while the walls in the kitchen have a subtle gloss look and can be wiped clean.

Despite its narrow footprint, the house has four rooms, a generous niche for working from home and plenty of cleverly used storage space. A staircase designed as a cabinet not only connects the upper and attic floors, but also function and design.

the welcoming bathroom in the lower basement features a harmonious blend of warm white and beige tones. Black mixer taps add elegant accents. Durable materials on the walls ensure that the room not only remains beautiful, but also practical.
