The “Kompaktblock Mayer”, a result of the urban development concept Europan 7 for Neu-Ulm/Wiley, does not differ from its surroundings in height and proportion, but does set itself apart with its color concept: light, elegant gray on the outside, warm, intimate orange red in the courtyard with its communicative pergolas and vibrantly distributed balconies. Here, color is used to make private and public areas visible for the residents and observers, to differentiate the personal from general and the interior from the exterior. This makes the building readable and enables it to be experienced directly.
