Further information

The award for outstanding facade and interior design is a prestigious honor bestowed only on the very best properties: the Brillux Design Award expert jury will nominate the three most outstanding submissions in each of the five categories, then select the respective winners from each of these shortlists. The winners will be announced at the award ceremony, to which all nominees are invited.
All winners benefit from a large media presence: trade journals from the fields of architecture, housing and the skilled trades report in detail on the award-winning projects and their participants. In addition, further new advertising and PR measures make the winners of the competition visible to customers and the general public.
For example, these here:
The Brillux Design Award shows how interior and exterior design enriches and enhances our living spaces across national borders. The prize honors new or existing building projects and their designers from architecture and the skilled trades in five categories and a special award for energy-efficient facades.
Awards are given to projects that impress the jury with outstanding design and architecture as well as high-quality craftsmanship completed between January 2025 and December 31, 2026 using Brillux products.

This category recognizes residential buildings with outstanding, colored facade designs, both in renovations and new buildings. All building types can be submitted, from detached houses to apartment buildings to high-rise buildings. Buildings with mixed use of housing and commerce are also permitted, if the residential element is predominant. Particular attention is paid to integration into the urban or residential environment. Facades that have been designed with thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) are also submitted here, provided that they have been designed or renovated in an energy-efficient way and meet the current energy-saving requirements.

The special award is chosen from all submissions where external thermal insulation (ETICS) is part of the building envelope. Existing and new buildings that have been designed or renovated in an energy-efficient manner using ETICS are evaluated. The technical implementation must comply with the applicable requirements of the Energy Savings Ordinance. Special attention is paid to the professional execution of the ETICS facade and the design – from the final coating and color selection to the integration of design elements.
