Thanks to this concept of a child-friendly learning environment, the children’s and youth hospital AUF DER BULT has made it possible for children to have a positive experience at the hospital. As part of the restructuring and renovations, the educational and learning scheme has been rethought and extended into the rooms with a new color and material concept. The children’s and youth hospital has been undergoing works for renovations, rebuilding and expansion for two years. With an innovative color light system, colorful corridors, a new guidance system, that ensures easy orientation through a combination of numbers, colors and animal figures, and colorful wall design, a calm, family-friendly environment has been created. By redeveloping the wide balconies, each patient room was enlarged by round eight square meters. This means that additional space has been made available to install beds for parents, which can be used as sofas during the day.

In the hospital, cleaning agents and disinfectants, as well as heavy use, place high demands on the coating. It is also important that the coating materials are low odor and low emission. When combined with various substrates, there is a specific requirement profile. Painting firm Bosold GmbH & Co KG from Küllstedt were commissioned to undertake the work in the main renovated part of the children’s and youth hospital AUF DER BULT. To paint the around 300 door frames and fire doors, as well as the handrails on the stairs, Project Manager Jens Rönnick and his team used the latest product development from the Brillux research and development center, the 2K Aqua Matt Enamel 2388, which impresses thanks to its great resistance and stressability. The wall surfaces in the AUF DER BULT children’s and youth hospital also required special coating solutions. Superlux ELF 3000 is able to create beautiful, even surfaces in the dull matt gloss grade even in difficult grazing light situations. Everywhere that intense color shades were sought, the team chose Vetrolux ELF 3100, a matt special interior emulsion, that is easy to clean without leaving traces on the surface.
