Emulsion-based effect technique Multi-color smoothing technique 4c03

The Multi-color Smoothing Technique 4c03 is a simplified form of the Smooth Marble Technique 5c01. On a base color shade, emulsion paint is applied wet in wet in one or multiple color shades; then leveled and lightly smoothed individually – preferably diagonally – with different trowels. The combination of intensive color shades and pastel colored or metallic accents is extremely popular.

Step 1

The smooth substrate is already coated in a suitable prime color shade. Emulsion paint is now applied in sections in the specified direction.

Step 2

Accent color shades are added in the wet layer with the Paint Brush Fine Liner, round 1239. Tinted emulsion paint is used here.

Step 3

An individual, direction-based smoothing of the applied material with a plastic trowel is required to achieve an uniform surface profile.

Step 4

The surface is re-smoothed carefully with a Double Blade Spatula 1289. The next strip is then treated using the method described above.
