May we introduce? A couple who love to travel. And that brought a big dream from his trips: his own bed & breakfast in Basel.

Anyone like Ursi and Dennis who travels a lot appreciates a good hotel. But the very personal atmosphere that only exists in bed and breakfasts had appealed to them so much that they started dreaming of opening their own guesthouse. And when they found the right property for their project, they knew: there was nothing more holding them back!

A former retirement home becomes a bed & breakfast

Stories like these are usually only seen in movies: Two young people apply to transform a house into a bed & breakfast. The former owner replies with a handwritten letter – and gives Ursi and Dennis the job. Because, just like them, she wanted the house to live on through its residents. This is how the story began…

Who needs marble when you can have terrazzo? The 265 square meter Art Nouveau house is a former retirement home. Built in 1896, it needed a modern touch, while retaining the old character. When Ursi and Dennis found old terrazzo under the marble floor, they didn’t have to think about it for long. Bye bye marble!
