Color fastness

The right product and color shade - resistance and brilliance combined

The right product choice for facades: usually a breeze for a professional like you. But things can get tricky when it comes to the question of resistance. That’s where we come in. Find the right products and color shades with us! So you can promise your customer that the color shade will stay exactly as it should for a long time.

What factors can affect color fastness?

Moisture and UV radiation: condensation and rain, together with sunlight, put strain on the coating and can cause the color pigments to fade.

Pollutants and acid rain: they too attack facade coatings and can change facade color shades.

Soiling level: car or industrial exhaust fumes as well as algal or fungal growth on damp facade elements soil the facade surface and darken the color shades.

The highest color fastness for facade paints can be found, for example, in our Scala facade paints color chart. All color shades shown in this correspond to the highest color fastness rating – A1 – in the products Evocryl 200, Evoshine 201, Secolux 918, Secodur 920, Ultrasil HP 1901 and Extrasil 1911.
