Brillux Home Story: Jantien from das.bruns.haus

Jantien shows her colorful world

Welcome to a house where white doesn’t stand a chance

How much color can a home handle? With content creator Jantien Bruns from das.bruns.haus, the answer is clear: a whole lot! Working with her painting contractor, she completely redesigned three rooms in her home – showing how bold color shades can change the atmosphere of a room.

“I grew up in a home with a lot of color. When we moved into our house, it was clear to me right away: we’re not leaving any wall white here!”

The result is a modern boy’s room, a bold girl’s room and a warm apricot bedroom. The unique feature: it’s not just the walls that are colored – the ceilings also play a central role in every room. This is often where the greatest effect is created.

Color taken all the way to the ceiling

Jantien loves bold color concepts. Her home, where she lives with her husband, two children, two dogs and a chicken – who sometimes likes to come into the house from the garden – is brightly colored. A wide range of color shades can be found on the walls, in pictures, in accessories and even on the ceilings. Jantien deliberately opts for consistent color worlds that make every room unique.

Bold color design with great effect

Jantien’s home is an impressive example of how much color can influence the effect of a space – especially when walls and ceilings are designed as a whole. This makes rooms feel more cozy, more creative or even architecturally completely reinterpreted. Colored ceilings are currently making a real interior comeback. Whether tone-in-tone or as a conscious contrast: color can be used to personalize spaces and make real statements.

Bring color concepts to life professionally

For extraordinary color ideas to look harmonious, proper planning and craftsmanship are key. The painting contractor Schaumburg GmbH from Essen worked with Jantien to develop and professionally implement the color design – from the ceiling areas to the colored window reveals.

“I really needed professional support, especially for my high, angled ceilings – I would never have been able to do that alone,” says Jantien. The products used in this process are characterized by their high durability, good cleanability and preservative-free formulation. These are particularly important properties in heavily used rooms, because the surfaces there don’t only need to look good, but also need to withstand a lot of everyday wear and tear.

In the end, not only Jantien and her husband, but also the children are overjoyed with the new colors: “My daughter loves it – she chose the colors herself. And ever since the renovation, my two-year-old just wants to be in his room,” says Jantien with a laugh.
