Completely preservative-free
Brillux offers the complete range of interior emulsion paints and interior plasters in a preservative-free formula. We are therefore setting an industry-wide benchmark in terms of health and sustainability. The absence of traditional preservatives reduces the risk of potentially sensitizing ingredients – without compromising on application, covering power or shelf life. This allows us to promote healthy building practices on a wide scale – for all interior applications.

Energized towards sustainability
Expansion of our photovoltaic systems
Brillux is consistently investing in the expansion of photovoltaic systems at our sites. The goal: to significantly increase self-sufficiency with renewable energy and reduce CO₂ emissions. Photovoltaics are already standard in our new buildings, and existing buildings are retrofitted accordingly during renovations. Most of the energy generated is used directly on site, while surpluses flow into the public grid.
Certified energy management
With the introduction of an energy management system in accordance with EN ISO 50001, Brillux has created a binding framework for measurably increasing energy efficiency and using resources in a sustainable way. The goal is to continuously reduce energy consumption through technical optimizations, informed employees and efficient processes. The certification requires us to conduct regular audits, set measurable goals and define clear responsibilities.
State-of-the-art systems and technology
Our four production plants in Münster, Unna, Herford and Malsch are among the most state-of-the-art in Europe in terms of systems, technology, energy efficiency and resource conservation. Among other things, we rely on pigging technology, where a mechanical cleaning device (“pig”) removes product residues almost completely from pipelines, significantly reducing water and cleaning agent consumption. We are also reducing energy consumption through combined heat and power generation and various options for heat recovery – even as our production output increases. We use the generated heat directly – for example, to heat offices, production areas and storage spaces.
